Toxic Air Samplers

Model 2200 Toxic Air Sampler

The ATEC Models 2200 and 2200-2 Toxic Air Samplers are self-contained air sampling instruments that have been specifically designed to simultaneously collect air samples into canisters and sorbent cartridges for specified time periods. This provides the capability of obtaining both VOC and Carbonyl measurements at the same time with one easy-to-use instrument.  The flow rates into the canisters and cartridges are regulated using electronic mass flow controllers.  A single board internal computer with a color touch screen display provides flexible scheduling, error checking, and data logging capabilities.  These samplers can be configured for either sub-ambient or pressurized canister sampling as will as collocated sampling of either canisters or cartridges using independent mass flow controllers.  Mulit-port expansion units can be added to provide additional canister and cartridge sampling.

Features

·        Manual leak check procedure during setup

·        Automatic leak checks prior to the start of sampling

·        Cartridge flow rate and volume, and canister flow rate and pressure are logged during sampling

·        Canister pressure and flow, and cartridge flow rate are monitored for out of tolerance conditions

·        Auto zero of mass flow controllers

·        Software calibration of mass flow controllers

·        On screen Standard Operating Procedures provide step-by-step guidance for operators during instrument setup and post sample data retrieval

·        Expansion capability of up to 16 cartridges

·        Duplicate sampling with independent mass flow controllers (maximum of four independent channels)

·        Auto sense feature only uses canisters that have not been sampled

·        Sub-ambient or pressurized canister sampling

·        User selectable final canister pressure

·        ¼ VGA color touch-screen with XScale RISC microprocessor

·        Optional label printer to provide QA labels for cartridges and canisters

·        Data download to jump drive

·        Idle channels can be programmed while sampling

·        Programmable purge for main units and expansion units-flushes entire sample path prior to sampling.

·        Temperature controlled ozone scrubber for carbonyl sampling

·        Specially designed inlet to minimize condensation in sampling lines

·        Manual mode operation to activate all components

·        Hexavalent chromium (Cr6) filter upgrade available

ATEC Model 3400 Toxic Air Sampler

The ATEC Model 3400 Toxic Air Sampler is designed to sample both toxic gases and particulates using one easy to use instrument.  The Model 3400 can be ordered with up to 4 sample channels. The sampler is ideally suited for use in the US EPA National Air Toxic Trends Station Program (NATTS), since it can simultaneously sample one canister, one carbonyl DNPH cartridge, and two hexavalent  chromium (Cr6) filter samples. The sampling methods employed in the Model 3400 follow the guidelines outlined in EPA Methods TO-11A, TO-14, TO-15, and the improved CARB method for Cr6 recently developed by EPA and ERG.

The flow rate through each channel is regulated with reliable mass flow controllers. A single board internal computer with a color touch screen display provides flexible scheduling, error checking, and data logging capabilities.  The sampler is available in either an indoor or outdoor version.
